What is Net Zero?

Net Zero Ready Homes

Net Zero Ready Homes are 50% more energy efficient than a standard home. Achieved by increasing the level of insulation and air tightness and upgrading the efficiency of the windows and mechanical equipment. Net Zero Ready Homes are built ready to implement renewable energy systems like solar as they become more affordable and efficient.

Net Zero Homes

Net Zero Homes utilize the same standards as the Net Zero Ready Homes but come with the addition of solar panels installed for renewable energy. This upgrade allows your new home to generate as much energy as you use and are 80% more efficient than homes built to conventional standards.

Why Net Zero?

Value

A Net Zero Home brings together energy efficiency, quality construction, and home technology to give you exceptional value.

Comfort

A Net Zero Home takes comfort to the next level. Your family will feel great all year, in every part of the house.

Health

With improved indoor air quality (IAQ) and excellent filtration, a Net Zero Home is a healthier home.

Sustainability

A Net Zero Home is the most responsible choice for your family and the environment, resulting in energy and resource savings.

Control

A Net Zero Home gives you more control over your energy consumption and costs, while reducing your reliance on your utility provider.

Benefits – The Future of Comfort

  • Net Zero Homes produce as much clean energy as they consume and are between 60-80% more energy efficient than your typical new home built to conventional standards.

  • They provide consistent temperature throughout, prevent drafts, and provide fresh filtered air to reduce dust and allergens.

  • Tightly built and well insulated, these homes are significantly quieter. Outside noises are virtually silenced. Similarly, filtered fresh air systems deliver exceptional indoor air quality for healthier living.

  • A Net Zero Home is designed to significantly reduce your household’s carbon footprint. You’re doing your part to protect against climate change and preserve natural resources for future generations!

Energy Savings

A gigajoule (Gj) is a unit of energy. Both gas and electricity can be converted into this common unit of energy to calculate the total energy usage of the home.

The average Canadian spends between $2,500 – $3,500 annually on their utilities.

Average Canadian Home

The Average Canadian home generally has good air quality, but factors like indoor pollutants, humidity levels, and ventilation can impact overall air freshness and health.

Standard New Home

Standard Canadian home air quality is deemed good, with guidelines emphasizing ventilation, humidity control, and pollutant reduction to maintain a healthy indoor environment.
